De f\u00f8rste \u00e5rene benyttet man blant annet kontramarkerte amerikanske mynter, men i 1859 kom den f\u00f8rste egne vestindiske myntserien etter det nye centsystemet. 20 Cents viser Frederik VII p\u00e5 aversen og et samtidig seilskip p\u00e5 reversen \u2013 skipsmotivet vendte dermed tilbake p\u00e5 vestindiske mynter etter nesten hundre \u00e5rs frav\u00e6r.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"460\" data-end=\"811\">Daler- og centsystemet ble beholdt frem til en ny reform i 1904. Da ble franc og bit innf\u00f8rt som parallelle val\u00f8rer, samtidig som de gamle betegnelsene fortsatt sto p\u00e5 myntene.
